Preface
一
黑格爾曾說,"人類從歷史中所得到的教訓,就是人類從來不吸取歷史教訓"。2020年初始,大自然在以自己的力量,再次給予人類以警告。起初,沒有人在意一場災難,這不過是一次山火,一次旱災,一個物種的滅絕,一座城市的崩裂,直到這場災難與每一個人息息相關。然后人們才會發現沒有真正的苦中作樂,也沒有一個物種能獨善其身。在全球經濟活動因肆虐數月的新冠肺炎疫情而幾乎停擺之時,終于等來了此前作品征集活動的線下展覽。這次展覽意味著觀眾將帶著口罩,且剛剛被檢測過體溫正常,可能還需要建議互相保持一定的安全距離,甚至預約觀展——我們從未對觀眾有過這樣多的預設,這都是源于當今大環境的各種巨變。此次展覽以命運共同體的角色出發,分三個單元鋪開,我們有幸與國內外三十六位藝術家一起見證歷史。他們的作品涉及多個主題,從直面疫情的現實記錄到反思人類與自然的關系,以及對美的無限追求。并非另一場義正言辭的疫情展,把自然與我們的生活中的交織所帶來的震撼與美好勾勒出來,讓彼此的關系成為中心,萬事萬物終將交會。
Hegel once said, "The lesson that mankind has learned from history is that they never learned". At the beginning of 2020, mother nature is warning humans with its own power once again. At first, no one cared about a natural disaster. It was nothing more than a wildfire, a drought, the extinction of a species, or even the collapse of a city, until the disaster was closely involving every single person. Then people will find it's hard to be happy in their own lives when knowing others are suffering, and no one can be alone in this case. At a time when global economic activities were almost shut down due to the new corona pneumonia epidemic that raged for several months, we finally waited for the offline exhibition of previously collected art works. This exhibition means that the audience will wear a mask and has just been passed the body temperature check. It may also be necessary to recommend social distancing during a visit, or even requiring making appointments before visit--we have never had so many presets for the audience. It is all a result of the huge changes in today's environment. Starting as the role of a community of fate, this exhibition unfolds three units. We are fortunate to witness history with 36 artists from China and abroad. Their work involves multiple themes, from the actual record of facing the epidemic to reflecting on the relationship between humans and nature, the infinite pursuit of beauty can be found throughout. It is not just another epidemic exhibition of serious, righteous words. Instead, it outlines the shock and glory brought by the interweaving of nature and our lives, making the relationship between each other become the main subject, as everything in the universe will eventually meet.

還記得在這場疫情中引爆網絡的詩句,“山川異域,風月同天”。這句隋唐時期日本政治家長屋親王繡在贈送給唐朝僧侶袈裟上的詩句本身所帶的美感使人感到稀缺,讓人心生無限感懷。原來社會上有一些人負責關于真相的問題,有一些人負責美的問題,即使真相有時使人難堪,美有時毫無用處,我們也希望真和美變的不那么遙遠,因為他們才是值得永恒追求的價值本身。事實上,豈止兩國之間風月同天,在地球面前,青山一道同風雨,在災難面前,除了關心,我們能做的還有太多。
Do you still remember the poem that went virus on Weibo during in this epidemic earlier this year, "The mountains and rivers are foreign, the wind and the moon are the same day." This poem was embroidered on the cassocks given by a Japanese prince Nagayano to the monks from China in Tang Dynasty. The sublime beauty the poem delivers under the current situation is scarce. It's tellling us that in our society, there are people who are responsible for the matter of truth, and some are responsible for the matter of beauty. Though sometimes the truth is embarrassing and beauty seems useless, we still hope that truth and beauty are not so far away from our lives. They are the values that worth our eternal pursuit. After all, it is not the wind and the moon shared just between the two countries. We call the same earth home, brave the same storm together. In addition to caring mentally, we believe we can actually do much more.

地球在宇宙中是渺小的,人類在地球上是渺小的,說到底也沒有什么神秘,無非是靠著愛和勇氣生生不息地延續了幾千年。在危難時刻,藝術可能無法為我們解決問題,藝術家對于未知,對于自然,對于生活,對于身邊之人滿懷真摯的“愛”,卻會永恒的存在著。被視覺化的自然往往成為一種處理過的符號充斥我們的日常生活,也是一個溫柔的提醒,你不會問大自然為什么青山是青色的,你只需要放松享受這份綠。
The earth is tiny in the universe, and human beings are tiny on the earth. At the end, there is no much mystery. It is nothing but love and courage that lasted from generations to generations throughout human history. In times of crisis, art may not be able to solve problems for us, but it conveys the artist's sincere "love" for the unknown, for nature, for life, and for those around him or her, which will last forever. The visualized nature might becomes a processed symbol existed in our daily lives. It is also a gentle reminder that you would not ask the nature "why the mountains are cyan“? You just relax and enjoy the color, the mountain.
