近年始終少有機會看到海旺的油畫原作,但我還清晰記得十年前在天津美院汲成先生主辦的那屆油畫高級研修班上海旺的一批作品,作品里充滿了表現性風格的激情,既有狂野的筆觸,又有形式的力度與畫面的張力。那時的海旺,以及班上的其他學友,都正值盛壯之年,可以說是野心勃勃,某中蓄勢待發的激烈之情,也就自然而然地宣泄在畫布上,畫面上時常回蕩著耨中不安的戲劇化氣息。
海旺近些年的作品,無論是人體,靜物,還是風景,內容與題材的變化與嘗試,或許能夠體現其心境的變化,視角的轉移,但畫面中不變的是其內在激情的顯現,很顯然,海旺的繪畫核心在于油畫刀筆的運動,在任何一張他的作品里,激烈的刀筆運動之后留下的痕跡,成為油畫的主宰,以至于具有了某種侵略性和否定性的價值,進而導致某種自由的、非邏輯的偶然性的效果。這樣一來,海旺的畫就不可能拘泥于任何的內容與對象,或即定的規則與邏輯,形式與內容僅僅為保持創作的過程和結果的整體性而服務。題材的預設性與繪畫過程的偶然性,相互碰撞導致一種鮮活生動的效果。在海旺的一系列人體作品中表現的最為充分,人體的優美與典雅被反復運動的刀筆運動所覆蓋撕裂。繪畫的再現價值已蕩然無存,而主觀的情緒與沖動,卻與形和色產生著內在的共鳴,海旺的內在感知得以迸發。
近幾年海旺的作品,透露出某種新的跡象,就是他在試圖收斂這種激情的釋放,這在他一系列表現菏塘的作品中能夠看出明顯的端倪。這或許是年齡的關系,理智與情感在尋求某種自然的和諧與平衡,這種變化軌跡,是自然規律,也是藝術規律。他的畫里釋放出的更多的是松弛和自由,而少了躁動與緊張。多了些縝密與規律,少了些狂放與雜亂。我們很難評價這是好是壞,因為這都是真實的海旺,作為老同學,我即喜歡哪個十年前眼睛里常常閃現著野獸般光芒的海旺同樣也喜歡現在常常更多帶有溫和微笑的海旺。
