在時代巨變的大背景下，每個人都會經歷變化帶來的不適。變化讓人們受到威脅，失去歸屬感的人們恐慌、觀望、迷失、尋找。

畫家王家增的《工業日記》系列正是透過自身的成長背景----工廠，這個對他來說既熟悉又陌生的地方，以及他早期的工人經歷，來傳達自己的感觸和認知。

在他的畫中，人人依附于一個箱子，而飄渺的遠處則存在著不可知的威脅。一方面，箱子是過去的余留；另一方面，它也是人們身體與精神的棲息之所，它象征著安全。同樣，深藍色的制服與干部帽也不過是個符號，昭示普通人的身份或有一點點懷舊的成分。畫面中的工業形式只是一種視覺符號，只是一個引子，營造畫家所喜歡的畫面效果，顏色很少，灰調既印證了畫家的成長經歷，也是畫家對工業城市永遠抹不掉的記憶。

畫家希望通過一系列的視覺形象幻化成一種無盡的感慨，有意識地傳達自己對現實的觀感，對生活的思考，對未來的期冀。

Everyone has the maladjusted experience facing the huge time changes. Changes give people threat, panic, drift, maze and searching.

The series of “Industry Diary” described his experiences as a worker. Wang wants to convey his feelings and awareness through painting his background—factory, a familiar and strange place.

In his paintings, everyone attached to a box, and there is an unknown threat at somewhere. On the one hand, the box represents past, on the other hand, the box is a place people’s body and spirit can stay, which also is a symbol of safety. Similarly, the dark blue uniforms and caps also are symbol, which shows the identity of the ordinary people or a little bit of nostalgia. The industry is a kind of visual symbol, which can build a kind of screen feeling. That Wang Jiazeng used a kind of gray-color on canvas represents his growing experiences and the indelible memories of industry city.

Through a series of visual images, artist wants to express his endless emotion, his impression for reality, his thinking of life and an expectation of future.
