Several year ago, I knew with Huang .The inceptive impression of him is simple and honest ,slightly shy .He always hangs his head in thinking ,and holding a cigarette between his lips. Occasionally he says something also concerning painting .This couple of years the paintings of Huang have appeared towards considering drawing itself in his current series, instead of the requests of the form and color at the beginning.
This series is a big change to Huang .This kind of change contains his much more viewpoint and persistence .Someone once said:”The change isn’t difficult, Persistence is painful and difficult .he insisted”.
He shows his feeling accurately and distinctly by a way of vision’s blur .The artist’s heart can’t be surmised ,but his paintings give the expressions .In his paintings the figures suspend in the sky of a city .He drew repeatedly with invisible strokes to construct a harmonious style .The entire painting is in tones of grey-blue ,with misty background and the figures with a emotional expression, as if expressing wordlessly ,showed a kind of idealizing ability inside .We do not know that the ideas ares from his heart or just irony .Only the painter himself feels his own experience .
The main characteristic of the Huang`s drawings is that he tried to change the various relations of activities of the images and backgrounds in his paintings .If he just put figures in the backgrounds not showing his emotions ,it is meaningless. He improved his work to another stage that the other people didn’t do ,he adjusted the various relation in a deep way ,admitting that things are dull and fidgety but can make the desire satisfied :satisfying the existent demand ,satisfying the true feeling ,It is not easy to the artists because they aren’t satisfying themselves ,always cater for the demand of others ,their emotion isn’t real ,it is just vanity and concept .
Another main characteristic is that he disdains the sign .Some people may think that an idea is the symptom of expressing the felling of body, or unchangeable images will became a sign ,in fact I don’t think so-called style are the effects of the paintings ,instead ,as the sign and idea of a painting is in fact an existence method ,an expression .Did he just put his pure felling participating in paintings or think the whole language ?He did both ,these were exactly what I concerned ,the expressions of the paintings can’t correspond to varied emotional feature ,As an expressions tool ,the painting becomes a medium for showing diversity by people’s experience .Huang closes this way step by step in the active operation, he has constructed a type of fictitious space. In this scope he is attempting to carry out all possibilities, including the processings of the simpler and purer paintings that all show this.
